What is pi, really?

Pi (π) is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. It's the same for every circle in the universe — from a soup can to a galaxy — and its decimal expansion goes on forever without ever repeating. That's what makes it endlessly fascinating, and endlessly memorizable.

The first ten digits of pi are 3.141592653. The current world record holder has recited over 70,000. Pi — The Game is how most people start the climb.
